Yet the sheer abundance of 4 & 5 star rated safari lodge offerings can be quite daunting to the safari enthusiast. Which lodge to choose? Will the property fulfill your expectations? Distances from major centres may be vast, locations are remote, game viewing opportunities differ, gate entrance & exit times vary and not all lodges may cater to a visitor's unique individual requirements.

Cardinal Leisure staff have personal experience of each safari lodge and game reserve recommended to our clients. Through frequent lodge visitations, we are able to qualify that lodge standards are maintained, and that compatibility with client requirements is provided. Safari Itineraries

An individual safari itinerary is designed to suit each client. Whether guests prefer arriving by road or by air, a personal yet comprehensive program will maximize the safari adventure. Should additional excursions be of interest, Cardinal Leisure will gladly include these into your itinerary. Tours to majestic canyons, scenic waterfalls, panoramic view sites, historical places of interest and cultural villages are provided.

It is quite possible to link your safari itinerary with other outstanding travel destinations in South Africa and the sub-continent. We are often approached to coordinate a complete package which may include visits to Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Okavango Delta and the Garden Route.

Luxury Suites

Well appointed suites extend every modern convenience to guests. The furnishings and décor unique to each lodge lend to the sense of adventure awaiting guests. All the units provide for air-conditioning and heating as required. Provision is made to accommodate either luxurious king size or twin beds, fitted with finest linens and duvets. Living areas lead onto individual viewing decks, enticing guests to spend a little private time absorbing the solitude and wonder of the African bush. Lavish bathrooms (many of which are designed to take in the bush vistas) provide generous bath and shower facilities, and additional private outdoor showers to add to the sense of adventure. Who knows what might join you?

Game Drives

Guests will enjoy both morning and evening game drives, lead by highly skilled trackers and rangers. The Big 5 – Lion, Buffalo, Rhino, Leopard and Elephant top the wish lists of most visitors. But remember to expect the unexpected in the bush – the smallest creatures are equally capable of entertaining with antics of their own. Coffee, tea and snacks are provided on each morning drive. Refreshments and snacks are offered on the evening drives. Your ranger will determine a location to stop and enjoy the refreshments. This provides for ample time to stretch your legs and “shoot the breeze” about your sightings.

Bush walks with armed rangers can be facilitated for those guests wishing to sample the true Africa on foot.

Safari Charter Flights

Cardinal Leisure provides charter flight options into most of the luxury safari lodges.

Turbo-prop aircraft such as the Beechcraft King Air 200, Pilatus PC-12 and Grand Caravan 208 prove to be popular choices for families or small corporate groups up to 10 guests. The Beechcraft 1900 is a comfortable 18 seat commuter aircraft for larger delegations. All flights operate with multi crew.

Safari flights generally depart from Lanseria International Airport, but we are equally capable of operating from Johannesburg International Airport (O.R. Tambo Airport). We provide a meet & greet service for all our local and foreign guests. effortlessly connect you with your next flight – it remains our pleasure.

Flights to the luxury lodges in the lowveld are generally around 1 hour from Johannesburg and Lanseria Airports. Catering and refreshments are included. Please visit the Air Charter portfolio page to view the aircraft.
